Xiaomi ties up with HCL to launch exclusive service centers across India
Xiaomi has tied up with HCL Care Services to launch exclusive experience centers for Xiaomi devices. It will serve as a one stop shop for all service and insurance needs of Xiaomi customers.
HCL Care Services has announced the launch of exclusive Experience Service Centers (ESCs) for Xiaomi devices. The service centers will cater to needs of Xiaomi customers and offer one-stop solution for accessories, services and insurance requirements. Acting as an extended arm for Xiaomi’s existing service centers in 28 cities, HCL ESCs will be serving Tier-I and Tier-II cities across India, the company said.
Out of the 40 scheduled ESCs, HCL Care Services has already deployed 37 with a workforce of 250 employees. In the next couple of years, these ESCs are expected to handle more than 43,000 calls. Besides North and East India, HCL Care Services is also looking to expand its service to Western and Southern parts of India, going forward.
Commenting on the partnership Xiaomi’s Liu Tao, head of after sales said, “A key focus for us in 2016 is scaling up our after sales support and this partnership is a step forward in this direction. We are pleased to announce these exclusive service centers with HCL Care and hope that with this partnership will provide an enhanced and localized experience to our customers.”
Last year, Xiaomi also launched its ‘Mi Protect’ insurance service in India with prices starting at Rs 275 for Redmi 2 and Redmi 2 Prime, Rs 375 for the recently launched Redmi Note 3 and Rs 499 for Mi 4i, Mi Pad and the Mi 4 16GB. The insurance service covers both accidental and liquid damage. So whether you happen to drop your phone on ground or it gets spoiled in the rain, your Xiaomi device will be protected against the unforeseen scenarios.
Xiaomi also launched ‘Pick Mi’ service that lets you book a pickup with a missed call. The service covers four union territories, 29 states and 579 cities across India. The service can be availed at a nominal fee of Rs 189, which can be paid via Cash on Delivery (COD) or online.
In metro cities, the total time for repairing and delivering the smartphone back to the customer would take about 24 hours. In other cities, the time frame for service and repairs is between 7-10 days. For pickup and drop, Xiaomi India has partnered with FedEx. Xiaomi will also keep the customers updated throughout the stages of service, either via e-mail or via an SMS.
