This year’s International Women’s Day is rightfully dedicated to the women of today who are taking on challenges head-on and are not afraid to #BreakTheBias. Women today are confident, well-read and aware of their surroundings, they raise a voice against injustice and show the world that they cannot be silenced.
I believe that more women need to be in leadership roles as diversity is crucial for all businesses, especially at the board level. According to the World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Gender Gap Report 2021, only 8.9 per cent of firms in India have women as top managers.
The lack of representation of female leadership means that women’s issues are not handled well and businesses need to prioritise diversity and inclusion at the workplace. Hopefully, in the coming years, we will see more women in leadership roles changing the world one step at a time”.
