Volvo launches S60 Cross Country at Rs 38.9 lakh
Mumbai: Volvo has launched the S60 Cross Country in India at a price of Rs. 38.9 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai, without octroi).
Volvo Auto India Managing Director Tom von Bonsdorff said the S60 comes with a unique blend of sporty ruggedness, offering all the capabilities of an ‘all weather, all road’ car.
Based on the regular S60 sedan, the S60 Cross Country comes with a ground clearance of 201 mm (that’s 65 mm more than the standard S60), a honeycomb grille, black cladding on the wheel arches, black wing mirrors and skid plates. The car also gets dual exhaust tail-pipes, 18-inch alloy wheels and active bending lights. It is available in a choice of 5 colours – Rich Java, Osmium Grey, Oynx Black, Crystal White and Bright Silver.
The interiors of the S60 Cross Country feature wood and leather, a piano black deco option and a frameless inner rear-view mirror. The car also gets sport seats which are available in single or dual-tone leather with contrast stitching. The interior has ‘Clean Zone’ (restricts particulate matter, odours & pollen from entering the cabin), an IR reflective windscreen and an electrically heated rear window.
Safety features include City Safety (autonomous braking system), airbags, ABS with EBD and emergency Brake Assist (EBA) among others. The car is further equipped with driver assist functions such as cruise control, parking camera, hill descent control, hill start assist and navigation.
The S60 Cross Country is powered by a 2.4-litre, 5-cylinder turbocharged (D5) unit that produces 188 BHP and 420 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, while power is transferred via an all-wheel drive system.
Globally, the S60 Cross Country will be available with several different engines and drive configurations—including Volvo’s D4 diesel five-cylinder, front-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive—but in the U.S. we’ll likely only get AWD with the 250-hp T5 turbo four.
