New Delhi: Vivo has launched a new smartphone for India called the Y31L. The new smartphone is now available for purchase in black and white, packs in 4G bands and is priced at Rs 9,450.
The handset is similar to the Y31A that recently launched in China and offers basic hardware with the highlight being its 4G bands.
On the front we get a 4.7 inch qHD (960×540 pixels) IPS LCD display. Inside, we have a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 from Qualcomm. There’s 1GB of RAM and the graphics are handled by an Adreno 306 GPU.
In terms of memory we get 16GB of internal storage that is expandable all the way up to 128GB thanks to the presence of a microSD card slot.
As for the cameras there is an 8MP unit on the back while a 5MP front facing unit takes care of selfies.
Coming to the connectivity options, we have the usual. There’s 4G LTE radios, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, FM radio, and Micro-USB for charging and data transfers.
The phone weighs in at 133 grams and packs in a 2200mAh battery. It is powered by Vivo’s FunTouch OS 2.1 with Android 5.1 Lollipop as its base.
The Y31L certainly does not stand a chance when compared to the Xplay 5 Elite that was launched earlier this month. The Vivo Xplay 5 Elite packs in a whopping 6GB RAM and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. Other features of this monster of a smartphone include 5.4-inch Super AMOLED Quad HD display that comes with dual edged curves similar to what we have on the Samsung Galaxy edge series.
