MV Agusta launched its Brutale 800 bike at an ex-showroom price of Rs 15.59 lakh – making it the most affordable offering from the exotic Italian bikemaker.
Speaking at the Brutale 800 launch in Mumbai, Ajinkya Firodia, managing director, Motoroyale – MV Agusta India, said: “We have been receiving enquiries for the new Brutale 800 ever since MV Agusta launched in India”.
This unit delivers 109 hp of maximum power at 11,500 rpm and 83 Nm of peak torque at 7,600 rpm and is paired to a 6-speed transmission. Although on paper, the Brutale 800 competes against the Triumph Street Triple, the Kawasaki Z900 and the Ducati Monster 821, the MV Agusta is priced considerably higher owing to its elite status.
At the launch of the MV Augusta Brutale 800 in India, Ajinkya Firoda, Managing Director, Motoroyale – MV Agusta India said, “We have been receiving enquiries for the Brutale 800 ever since MV Agusta launched in India”. We wanted to imprint the values of our factory. We wanted to create the most attractive Brutale ever. We wanted to create the most attractive Brutale ever. “We think we have succeeded”. This bike might just become the best-selling MV Agusta motorcycle in India. The premium bike-maker now gets 20 percent sales from its domestic operations and the balance from overseas markets; India now contributes around 5-6 percent in annual sales. MV Agusta had kick-started India operations in May 2016 and in a short span of time, it has managed to find almost 100 buyers.
Though the Brutale 800 is less powerful and almost Rs 7 lakh more expensive than its competitors, it just might be able to find itself a niche spot in the market, and to be honest, it is a niche exotic motorcycle. The company now has dealerships in Bengaluru, Pune and Ahmadabad, while new dealerships will be open soon in Surat, Mumbai and Delhi.
When sales rise from current 100 to over 500 units, a CKD operation may be considered. This already seems to be showing, as the MV Agusta has already received 9 bookings for the Brutale 800. The new Brutale 800 continues to offer a stunning single-sided swingarm but raises the style with a fresh tank, sub-frame and tail section.
