MTDC collaborates with BEST to start Mumbai Darshan Tour from Aug 11
Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) in collaboration with Mumbai-based BEST Undertaking is set to start the Mumbai Darshan One Day Tour, which will be the first time a tour is being operated in the state by a government authority in the city. The tour will commence from August 11, 2016, operating on Saturdays and Sundays. “Many private operators come up with Mumbai Darshan Tours. But, this is the first time MTDC, a government organisation is starting Mumbai Darshan Tour for one-day visitors to Mumbai,” said Valsa Nair Singh, (IAS) – Principal Secretary Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Government of Maharashtra.
The bookings for the tour are available on the MTDC website and on the BEST counters. The inauguration of first Mumbai Darshan Tour will be done by Devendra Fadanvis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
The tour will comprise 60 destinations across Mumbai, including renowned destinations like CST Museum, Nehru Science Centre, Tarapore Museum, Gateway of India, etc. The tour is divided into two parts. Tour 1 comprises departure from CST and tour 2 will depart from Dadar. “The entire duration of tour will be seven to eight hours. We have 15 BEST luxuries buses made available for the tour. There are two types of passes for the tour divided into Gold and Silver. The price for Gold pass is INR 725, which will include tickets for various destinations thereby avoiding the queues and ensure express entry to the destinations. Silver pass will cost INR 499,” said Jaykumar Jitendrasinh Rawal – Minister of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra.
