On June 2nd, Motorola launched the Moto C in India. This low-end model is priced at the equivalent of $94 USD, making it the cheapest smartphone ever released by the manufacturer.. At the time that the Moto C was being introduced, the Moto C Plus was not. This will change on June 19th when the device is unveiled.
According to a Moto C Plus teaser, the phone will be found exclusively at Indian on-line retailer Flipkart. The handset will carry a 5-inch display with a 720 x 1280 HD resolution. That compares to the 5-inch 480 x 854 (FWVGA) screen on the Moto C. The Moto C Plus is powered by the MediaTek MT6737 SoC, which means it carries a quad-core CPU and the Mali-T720 MP GPU. The phone comes with 1GB or 2GB of RAM, along with 16GB of expandable native storage.
The rear-facing camera weighs in at 8MP, and a 2MP front-facing camera handles selfies and video chats. The most interesting part of the phone is the 4000mAh battery. Combined with the HD resolution screen, the large capacity cell should allow for fantastic battery life.
Color options include Metallic Cherry, Pearl White, Fine Gold and Starry Black. Android Nougat is pre-installed, and pricing will be announced by Motorola when the device is unveiled in just a matter of days.
