Hyderabad, Jul 21 (PTI) Leading milk supplier Mother Dairy today said it expects total turnover to touch Rs 10,000 crore by fiscal 2017-18.
“Our organisation has a vision to achieve about Rs 10,000 crore total turnover in the next financial year 2017-18,” Sandeep Ghosh, Business Head-Milk at Mother Dairy, told reporters here.
Mother Dairy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), had posted a turnover of Rs 7,186 crore last fiscal.
“Out of this, about 75 per cent turnover came from dairy segment, while the rest is fresh fruit and vegetable and edible oil,” he said.
On expected turnover this fiscal, Ghosh said, “We are looking at Rs 8,500 crore.”
“We do a sales of approximately 35 lakh litres of milk per day. The current capacity is 40 lakh litres and we are expanding it by about 7 lakh litres in the next 12-15 months,” he said.
Mother Dairy today launched a cow milk variant in Hyderabad, which will be available in 500 ml pack size priced at Rs 20.
“We will soon launch cow milk in 200 ml and 1 litre,” Ghosh said, adding cow milk launched by Mother Dairy offers optimum fat content with necessary nutritional in-take and easy digestibility and will cater to essential dietary requirements of children between 2-7 years.
Replying to a query, Ghosh said: “Under the frozen category, we are expanding with frozen corn, cut vegetables and spinach.”
The company sells milk and milk products including ice creams, paneer and ghee under the ‘Mother Dairy’ brand. It is into edible oil business under Dhara brand. Moreover, it sells frozen vegetables, unpolished pulses and other processed foods under Safal brand.
