Kolkata: Marks & Spencer is focussed on rolling out more lingerie outlets in India.
Mohit Bhayana, head of retail of Marks & Spencer Reliance India Pvt Ltd told BusinessLine here on Tuesday that it planned to open up lingerie outlets in Bengaluru and Chennai in 2016-17.
It has so far opened three such outlets in Mumbai, Jaipur and Kolkata. Currently, it has 54 exclusive outlets including that for lingerie.
The company plans to end up the financial year by adding two more outlets – one in Goa and the other in Thrissur. “In March, we would open two more outlets, taking the tally to 56”, Bhayana said.
At present, they are present in 24 cities with brick and mortar stores. “However, through e-commerce platforms – Myntra and Flipkart – we have reached 140 cities and towns,” he added. Though he did not divulge the sales figure, he said sales growth in 2015-16 could be around 16 per cent over that in the last fiscal.
