New Delhi: Domestic smartphone manufacturer Intex Technologies has unveiled its new 4G-enabled ‘Aqua 4G’ smartphone at a price of Rs. 4,499. The smartphone is now listed on the company’s site .
Intex lately has been expanding its 4G smartphone portfolio with launches in sub-Rs. 10,000 category. Last month, the Intex Aqua Raze and Intex Aqua Wing were launched at Rs. 5,199 and Rs. 4,599 respectively. The biggest highlight of the Intex Aqua 4G Strong is it features 4G LTE as well as voice over LTE (VoLTE), which means it should work on the upcoming Reliance Jio 4G network. According to the official Intex listing, the Aqua 4G Strong supports the two LTE bands in India – FDD 1800MHz (Band 3) and TDD 2300MHz (Band 40).
At this price point, the Intex Aqua 4G Strong will compete against other handsets including the Lenovo A2010, ZTE Blade Qlux 4G, and the Phicomm Energy 653 that were launched carrying a price tag of below Rs. 5,000. The Aqua 4G Strong will also compete against Swipe Elite 2 priced at Rs. 4,666.
For specifications, the Aqua 4G Strong features a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) and comes with a pixel density of 233ppi. The Android 5.1 Lollipop-based smartphone comes with dual-SIM support. It is powered by a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT6735M) processor clubbed with 768MB of RAM. It comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage and supports expandable storage up to 32GB via microSD card.
The Intex Aqua 4G Strong sports a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front camera. The rear camera is accompanied by an LED flash. The Aqua 4G Strong is backed by a 1700mAh battery rated to deliver up to 6 hours of talk time and standby time of up to 240 hours. Connectivity options on the smartphone include GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, 4G, VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Micro-USB.
