Tell our readers about AAFT Online? your professional journey

In the fast-evolving education system, the foundation of AAFT online was laid to encourage non-conventional media arts education globally. We intend to offer methodically designed certificate and diploma courses with unique, creative and futuristic methodologies. We started our journey with four courses, but today AAFT online offers more than 20 courses covering media, journalism, fashion and jewellery design, photography, music production, animation & VFX, screenwriting, and more.

Both the founders have distinctive backgrounds but similar passions for creative arts. Akshay Marwah is a proud alumnus of London Business School and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Mohit Marwah has appeared in Bollywood movies like Fugly and Raagdesh. He has also collaborated with Yash Raj Films and Dharma Productions for multiple short films. The cumulative knowledge, experience, and dedication helped shape AAFT online as a one-of-its-kind edtech platform.

Through some light on AAFT University and how this is different from any other cinema or media institute?

AAFT online was founded with an intention to revolutionise the existing Indian education landscape by integrating futuristic and non-conventional methodologies. This includes one-on-one mentorship programs, hands-on experience through creative assignments and projects, refurbished content, interaction with global experts, and promising placement facilities.

Another reason why AAFT Online has an edge over other institutes is that we have alliances with globally recognised institutes. This includes the likes of USC School of Cinematic Arts, University of Cape Town, and St Petersburg University of Film and Television. It allows us to offer world-class learning opportunities to our students.

Help us understand your opinion about current Education trends in India.

The education trends today have gone beyond mainstream approaches. Learners want to go beyond the traditional ideas of education and broaden their horizons. The archaic rote learning, jotting down notes and just following textbooks are things of the past. Modern edtech platforms are helping learners, irrespective of their background, enhance their creative capabilities and explore unconventional career paths. At AAFT online, we help students take the road less travelled and succeed in areas like music production, animation and VFX, nutrition, jewellery design, screenplay writing and acting, making every dream possible to achieve.

Tell us about non-traditional skill development methodologies and its importance.

Not only the Indian but the global market is at a transitional stage where traditional job roles and skill requirements are not enough. In addition, the tough competition and super-volatile job market have made it imperative for learners and future job seekers to gain some level of technical knowledge and soft skills to have an edge over competitors. At this juncture, skill-based learning methodologies are taking the world by storm. There is no lack of job opportunities for individuals with adequate skill sets and a yearning for learning, upskilling and evolving.

Post COVID how online education has impacted formal offline education system in India

 

During the pandemic, the education system had to shift from offline to online almost overnight. While the initial few days were tough and uneasy for everyone, with time, the online learning modules enabled students to continue their education without facing any hiccups.
