The mid-life facelift variant of the Honda Brio is all set to make its official debut in India in during the month of September this year.
Honda has showcased a facelift version of the Brio at the 2016 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show(GIIAS). The five-door hatchback will be launched in September 2016 in India. The major changes in the Honda Brio facelift include new bumper, grille, projected head-lamp with DRLs and rear spoiler. Inside the cabin, the upgraded version gets the all-new dashboard design, which has been inspired from the 2016 Amaze. It includes 2-Din multimedia speaker, steering-mounted controls, larger instrument console and automatic climate control. Along with this the car gets new14-inch aluminum alloy wheels.
In terms of mechanicals, the facelift model is powered by a 1.2 L, i-VTEC, SOHC petrol engine, which produces 88hp of power and 109Nm of peak torque. The 2016 Brio will be available in two transmissions- 5-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox.
At the 2016 Indonesian Motor show, Honda also showcased the sportier version of the Brio, the Brio RS edition. The Brio RS features 15 -inch rim, RS badges, adjustable OVRMs and projector headlamps with LEDs. The cabin of the RS version gets touch-screen infotainment system.
When launched in India the facelift version of Honda Brio will be priced between Rs 4.5 lakh and Rs.7 lakh.
