Ducati Scrambler coming soon; to be priced at Rs. 7 lakh
New Delhi: Ducati will soon start its operations in the growing Indian two wheeler market. The Italian two-wheeler will make its second entry in the market, and this time the company will start its innings without any help of a distributor. Moreover, the maker is aiming to launch a series of new bikes in the country in next 6-9 months.
Interestingly, Ducati will also launch the highly rated Scrambler in our market. Unveiled in late-2014, the Scrambler will be the company’s entry level motorcycle for the Indian market. The company is likely to introduce the bike by the second half of this year, and it is expected to be made available by the end of this year.
If media reports are to be believed, the Ducati Scrambler will be priced competitively in the market. The bike is claimed to be priced close to Rs. 7 lakh. The retro styled motorcycle is likely to be offered in four variants- Icon, Classic, Urban Enduro and Full Throttle.
The Ducati Scramble is propelled by a L-Twin, Desmodromic, 2valves per cylinder, air-cooled, 8033cc engine that churns out a maximum power output of 75bhp at 8250rpm and a peak torque of 68Nm at 5,750rpm. This engine is clubbed to a six-speed gearbox, which transferred the power to roads.
Based on the tubular steel trellis frame, the Scrambler has 24 degree rake and 4.4 inch trail. It is equipped with features like LED inserts in the headlamp, LED tail lamp and disc brakes. The suspension mechanism comprises of USB front fork and rear monoshock. The front gets 18-inch alloy wheels, while the rear gets 17-inch alloy wheels.
