To help and solve issues of traders regarding Goods and Services Tax(GST), the Delhi government is launching six mobile vans. The vans will tour the city markets and resolve the problems of the traders. Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia has decided to open these vans when he came to know about the problems traders are facing towards the new tax regime, GST.
The mobile van will be headed by a GST officer which will travel from market to market to resolve the problems. The vans will be featured with a loudspeaker, to announce their arrival and point for the meeting. Then they will set up camp at a central point and assist traders. Apart, the government will also tie-up with market associations so that they can inform them of the date and time when the vans will be visiting their markets.
According to an official, “It is too early to ascertain the impact of GST on business right now but traders are facing problems. Even now, many traders have not been able to incorporate the new system within their existing billing. We will review the situation in some time”.
