Datsun offers the redi-GO with an all-new 0.8L three-cylinder i-SAT engine mated to a 5 speed manual transmission gearbox.
Datsun has launched the Redigo in India for a very competitive starting price of Rs 2.38 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The entry-level hatchback competes mainly with the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800, Renault Kwid and the Hyundai Eon in the Indian market and is available in five variants. The top-end S variant with maximum features is available for Rs 3.34 lakh.
The Redigo is based on the CMF-A platform like the Renault Kwid and has the appearance of small crossover. The hatchback uses an 800cc petrol engine producing 54bhp and 72Nm of torque, sending power to the front wheels via five-speed manual transmission. Just like the Kwid, the Redigo’s fuel efficiency (ARAI) is rated at 25.17kmpl.
Like most cars in this segment, the base variant of the Datsun hatchback misses out on even the basic features like the AC and power steering. The top-end model gets folding rear seat, front power windows, 2-DIN music system, LED DRLs and also a driver side airbag.
The hatchback is available in five colours – white, grey, silver, red and green. The Redigo is the third model in the Datsun India range after the Go and Go+ hatchback.
