Bajaj Auto has released the first teaser of its most powerful bike yet – the Dominar 400. The company had recently confirmed the name of the bike, while announcing its official launch date to be 15th December, 2016. A micro-site has also been pushed live, which allows interested customers to register for an invitation to the bike’s launch in their city and priority test rides.
The Dominar 400 is the production model based on the CS 400 concept that Bajaj showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. The Dominar has been given some subtle changes to make it more production friendly. These include conventional telescopic front forks instead of the up-side down units found on the concept. The single seat of the concept will also be replaced by split-seats.
Powering the Dominar 400 will be a 373 cc engine, similar to the one offered with the KTM Duke 390. It will feature Bajaj’s patented triple-spark technology and will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Bajaj is aiming to target the touring enthusiasts of the country with the Dominar 400. It will thus be pitted against the Royal Enfield Himalayan and Mahindra Mojo.
