Manufacturing Sector Pre Budget Expectations: Mr. Sudeep Sen, Head of Industrial and Manufacturing Vertical, TeamLease Services
“We expect the budget for 2019-2020 to focus on mobilizing funds towards Make in India projects, wherein not only the manufacturing activity is conducted, but also the assembly of the products manufactured happens in India. In-fact, the Government should give rebates to the companies which buy products from Indian firms and then do the assembly in the country, this should be promoted in significant way. This will also lead to greater job creation in the Manufacturing sector.
This budget should definitely focus on the allocation of funds towards the wages and incentive policy at the shop floors, more so for the work wherein the adoption of technology and digitization is in place for safety norms and productivity. Examples of implementation should be glorified and the Government should partner with them for others to follow as well. The policy and the receipt of incentives will act as Viral medium and it shall have a mass impact of the industry. More initiatives like Samarth Udyog Bharat 4.0 should be run and it shall give the future dividends, as it shall lead to adoption of smart manufacturing solutions through increasing technology awareness and codified knowledge sharing.”
