Ujjain: A state level campaign ‘Rojgar ki padhai – chalein ITI’ campaign was inaugurated at the premises of government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) by energy minister Paras Jain on Thursday. He highlighted the purpose of the campaign in his address and said, “Circumstances force many students to discontinue education after middle school, leaving them short of any technical or vocational skill. The government has launched this campaign to make such students self efficient.”
The campaign was launched with traditional lighting of the lamp before the portrait of Goddess Saraswati by guests. Member of Parliament Chintamani Malviya, MLAs Mohan Yadav and Bahadur Singh Chouhan, divisional commissioner MB Ojha, collector Sanket Bhondve and others attended the event.
Principal Sunil Lalawat shed light on the history of the college and said differently abled people also got training in different courses being conducted at the college. Speaking about the campaign, he said students would be given career oriented training in batches of 100 to 1200 hours from May 11 to June 30.
In the first session, conducted for school drop-outs, students will undergo a 6-hour basic IT training and electrician courses. Best performers will be honoured at the State level ceremony to be held on May 30.
