I oversee the Automotive business at GlobalEdge. We have over two decades of experience in solving complex customer challenges with intelligent automotive electronics solutions and an unparalleled expertise in infotainment and safety subsystems as one of the earliest entrants in this business. Our deep domain expertise has translated, over the years, into a range of advanced products and solutions developed in-house. How do you stay on top of the changes and developments taking place in your field?
Staying up to date in an industry that is constantly shifting isn’t easy, but being at the heart of this change helps in our readiness to solve future challenges of our customers and help them stay ahead of the curve. Understanding the technology of today is not enough anymore. You also have to constantly and consistently look beyond today’s solutions and be ready for what lies ahead.

How far do you think an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems will be assistive to Indian Markets?
Features like Forward Collision warning and Rear View / Park Assist systems are definitely assistive for Indian Markets. Forward Collision Waning can be based on either Front Camera or Radar based or combination of both. These systems typically monitor the distance between the Car and front objects and provide alerts / warnings to the driver. Rear View / Park Assist systems are either based on camera or with ultrasound sensors. These systems provide video/visual representation and assist the driver on reverse parking by showing the path with overlays and warnings through sounds. Side Object / Blind spot detection systems can assist drivers while changing the lanes.
At GlobalEdge, we work very closely with Global Automotive OEMs and Tie-1 suppliers to provide our Solutions and Services for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. We have been part of many of OEM Production Programs that are already launched in different geographies.

What trends are likely to transform the automotive industry over the next 2 years?
The Connected Car Technologies along with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, Infotainment and Telematics are key trends that are going to transform the automotive industry. The way we communicate between Vehicle to Vehicle, Vehicle to Infrastructure and Vehicle to Pedestrian is getting standardized and will drive new vehicles with these technologies inbuilt. The road safety tests are in advanced stages for Autonomous driving /driverless cars. These technologies will become more mature and come on roads in the near future. ECU consolidation is the area where many OEMs and Tier-1s are focusing to reduce overall cost to the consumer. Low-cost-rich-functionality Infotainment systems will be the key for Indian car owners.
Please shed some light on your roadmap for next 5 years?
GlobalEdge will continue to invest on Connected Car technologies along with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, Infotainment and Telematics. We work closely with our customers to provide our Solutions and Services in these areas. We have brought in Autonomous driving and Electric Vehicle technologies as part of our roadmap and will start developing solutions in these areas. Test Automation is another key area where we would like to bring in cost savings for our customers by reducing test cycle times.
