The 2016 Toyota Innova Crysta, based on an all-new IMV (International Multi-purpose vehicle) platform, is lighter, stiffer and safer than the previous generation model.
The much-awaited Toyota Innova Crysta will be finally launched in India. The Innova Crysta that made its debut at Delhi Auto Expo 2016, will be made available in a total of three trims – GX, VX and ZX.
The 2016 Toyota Innova Crysta, based on an all-new IMV (International Multi-purpose vehicle) platform, is lighter, stiffer and safer than the previous generation model. The MPV’s new model comes with an all-new GD powertrain options – a 2.4-litre GD, VNT Intercooler and a 2.8-litre GD. While the former pushes out a maximum power of 146.9bhp against 343Nm, the latter one is good enough for 174.5bhp and 360Nm. Transmissions duties are performed by a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Toyota claims that the MPV’s new GD diesel engines are 10% more fuel efficient than the old diesel powertrain.
In terms of design, the 2016 Toyota Innova Crysta looks a lot better than the previous one. The MPV features a new dual-slats chromed grille, new sweptback headlamps and fog lamps, integrated LED daytime running lamps, re-designed bumpers and multi-layered bootlid. Dimensions of the new Innova Crysta measure 4,735mm in length, 1,830mm in width and 1,795mm in height, thus making it longer, wider and taller than the old model. The wheelbase, however, is same as the previous model – 2,750mm.
The interior, too, receives comprehensive updates such as new dual-tone theme, automatic climate control, a 7-inch entertainment system with voice commands and Bluetooth connectivity, dual front and driver knee airbags, ABS, EBD, rear parking sensors, door ajar warning, anti-theft system, etc. The higher trims, additionally, offered with an 8-inch entertainment system, wood finishing on panels, ambient LED lighting, vehicle stability control, curtain airbags, hill-start assist control and LED projector headlamps.
