New Delhi: Meizu has sent out invites for a launch slated for 11 May. The invite shows off what is expected to be the top-end of the Meizu m3 note smartphone that was launched in China on 8 April. Moreover, the company’s social media handles also keep promoting the same, stating that there is a surprise coming in 2016 when asked about the launch of Meizu m3 note.
The smartphone is expected to be a budget device and packs in the same new piece of silicon that is also available in the recently launched Oppo F1 Plus (that is priced a lot higher, thanks to its 16MP selfie camera).
The Meizu m3 note packs in a 5.5-inch display with 2.5D glass. Inside, there’s a powerful MediaTek Helio P10 chipset octa-core chipset that is paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage for the base option. The second option includes 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Both devices pack in a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
Coming to the cameras, we get a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and a dual-tone LED flash while the front-facing unit gets a 5MP sensor. Connectivity options include 4G LTE (with VoLTE), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The handset features a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfers. Talking about charging, the device is expected to pack in a massive 4,100mAh battery that Meizu claims will last up to 16 days on standby. Also packed in is a new mTouch 2.1 sensor.
The smartphone packs in dual SIM slot with a hybrid SIM/SD card set up and is powered by Android 5.1 Lollipop with Flyme 5.1 OS running the show. For now there is no clue as to which variant (2GB RAM or 3GB RAM) of the smartphone will be launched in India.
